# Privacy policy

> What this site collects, what the free tools send to third parties, and how to ask for your data.

The short version: we do not run advertising trackers, we do not sell data, and there are no user accounts. The tools do send some technical data to third parties, and that is described in full below.

**To complete before launch**This policy is accurate about how the website behaves, but it still needs the operating legal entity, its country of establishment, and a contact address for data requests. Add them to the identified sections below before treating this as a complete GDPR notice.

## Who is responsible

**[TO COMPLETE: legal entity name, registered address, and country.]** Contact for privacy questions and data requests: **[TO COMPLETE: email address]**.

## What we collect when you read a page

| Data | Why | Where it goes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp | Serving the page, security, and abuse prevention | Our web server logs, on our own infrastructure |
| Same, at the network edge | Content delivery, TLS, and denial-of-service protection | Cloudflare, Inc., acting as our processor |

We do not run advertising or analytics trackers that profile you across sites. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.

## What the free tools send elsewhere

This is the part most privacy policies leave out, so we are explicit.

- **Connection and leak test.** Your IP address is sent to [ip-api.com](https://ip-api.com/) to resolve country, city, ISP and ASN. The result is cached on our server for 24 hours against a hash of the address.

- **Proxy checker.** The proxy details you enter are used to open one outbound request and are then discarded. They are not written to a database. The exit address of that connection is sent to ip-api.com for the same lookup.

- **WebRTC check.** Runs entirely in your browser. It contacts a public STUN server to enumerate candidate addresses. The result is never sent to us.

Do not enter credentials you are unwilling to transmit. Use a test account where possible.

## Cookies

See the [cookie policy](/cookies/). In short: no advertising cookies. Your colour-theme choice is stored in your browser’s local storage, not in a cookie, and never leaves your device.

## Comments and avatars

Comments are closed by default. Where enabled, WordPress may request an avatar from Gravatar using a hash of the commenter’s email address.

## Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, port, and object to processing of your personal data, and to complain to your supervisory authority. Because we operate no accounts, we usually hold nothing about you beyond server logs, which are short-lived. Write to the contact address above and we will respond.

## Retention

Server logs are retained only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting. Geolocation lookups are cached for 24 hours. Proxy credentials entered into the checker are never stored.

## Changes

Material changes to this policy will be reflected in the last-updated date on this page.
